Our story begins and ends with service. We were founded by a small but determined group of retired USMC veterans, who have witnessed first-hand the unpredictability of our world. Our service taught us not just the value of readiness but instilled in us a deep concern for the welfare of our fellow human beings. Leveraging 70+ years of combined military service, weapons and tactics knowledge, Ivy League education in sociology, cultural anthropology, business, and membership in the World Futures Studies Federation, we remain committed to our mission: to safeguard the well-being of our nation and its people. Nena Lehrschall

Welcome! I'm Nena, co-founder and owner of the Salty Seabag. My story is a vivid mix of academic research and high-stakes leadership. With a Master’s in Anthropology and Archaeology from Harvard, I’ve spent years studying how ancient cultures subsisted and managed their disaster response. My time in the Marine Corps, serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom, taught me other forms of strategy and resilience. Today, I channel this blend of knowledge and experience into our mission. My goal is to optimize modern emergency response efforts by supplying the best gear possible. Your grandma was right... take your jacket just in case.

After dedicating 20 years to the Marine Corps, I found myself navigating the civilian world, seeking a purpose that resonated as deeply as my time in uniform did. My quest for meaning took an unexpected turn with an experience that changed everything: an ayahuasca ceremony. This ancient practice opened my eyes to new ways of healing, reorienting an unfulfilling corporate existence. It wasn't just about moving on; it was about moving forward with intention, purpose, and a sense of community.

Hi, I'm Chris, mover of mountains and powerhouse co-founder and CEO of the Salty Seabag. I come from a different walk of life, enduring challenge and hardship in my youth. The Marine Corps offered me a space to thrive, and I ran with it. From standing on those yellow footprints as a young man entering USMC boot camp, to my latest successes at USC as part of their prestigious MBV cohort, I remain grounded in service. Achieving meritorious promotions, degrees and acadaldes are meaningful to me and provide validation of my hardwork and dedication but creating a company where we can all continue to grow and give is incredibly rewarding. My thirst for thriving translates well in a company built for handling your worst days.

Having had such a robust career in USMC service, I am proud to be able to apply that unique knowledge base and fortitude directly to those whom I have always served, the people. To this end, I bring unwavering perseverance and ingenuity to our strategic playbook. As those who have worked for me can attest, I have high standards.
